ARTIST STATEMENT
My name is Rebecca A. Johnson and I've been an artist for over 30 years. I live in the Northwest Arkansas area and love painting objects I use in my everyday life.
Tea pots and flowers are great sources of inspiration to me. As I pour tea from my tea pot, I conceptualize paintings on canvas. I never tire of painting zinnia's or roses picked fresh from my husband, Jim's, flower garden. As I paint the flowers, their scent lingers in the air inspiring me to greater depths.
Please view the Tea, Flowers & Still Life & Portraits & Street Scenes pages to see some images of my favorite works.

Another favorite subject of mine is carousel horses. A number of years ago, I received a book called 'The Carousel Animals' and was instantly inspired by the carved horses and animals in the book.
There is something exhilarating about the images of these beautiful animals and in the details of the color, and carving. While painting these prancing ponies, I am reminisce about the people that have enjoyed a ride on the back of each animal.
I now have photographs of carousel horses from around the country as past as future subjects, and shelves of tea pots that await my creative imagination.
